He was 42.

Following his death, many Bollywood celebrities took to their respective social media handles to mourn the demise of the singer.

Now, according to reports, Sajid and Wajid’s mother Razina Khan has been infected with Coronavirus.

An ABP News report has quoted a source as saying, “Wajid Khan’s mother Razina had already contracted coronavirus before the late musician was infected with the virus. Wajid, who was suffering from kidney and throat infection, tested positive for COVID-19 later.”

“Sajid-Wajid’s mother is better now and her condition has improved. She stayed in Surana Sethia hospital to take care of her ailing son. However, she contracted Covid-19 after she came in contact with other coronavirus patients at the hospital,” the source added.

“He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection… He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical,” singer Salim Merchant was qouted as saying by news agency PTI.

PTI also reported that Sajid Khan said his brother died of a cardiac arrest and that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

Wajid was buried at around 1 pm on Monday. “Because of the lockdown and COVID issue, only 20 people were allowed for the funeral. There were police security and barricades in place. Only close family, including brother Sajid and friends from the industry, were present,” sources told PTI.

Sajid-Wajid recently composed songs for Salman Khan during the ongoing lockdown, one of which was titled “Pyaar Karona”, a pop anthem encouraging all to fight the coronavirus. The composer duo also recently composed Salman’s Eid special song, “Bhai bhai”.

Sajid-Wajid made a debut in Bollywood with Salman Khan’s movie ‘Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kyaa’ in 1998. The duo went on to compose music for actor’s various films including ‘Tere Naam’, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karoge’, ‘Garv’, ‘Partner’, and ‘Dabangg’ franchise.
