Assam: 124 COVID-19 Cases Reported On June 1; State Tally Rises To 1485

The coronavirus cases in Assam continue to surge as 124 new COVID-19 positive cases reported on Monday, June 1, taking the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the state to 1,485.

Out of the 124 new cases, 20 cases have been detected from Kamrup, 12 from Cachar, 11 from Barpeta, nine from Karimganj, seven from Kokrajhar, six from Morigaon, five from Udalguri, four from Charaideo, three from Dhubri, three from Darrang, two from Goalpara, two from Hailakandi and one each from Sivasagar, Nagaon, Barpeta, Nagaon, Sonitpur and Jorhat.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that among the new cases, 33 are air travellers, including 30 who arrived in Guwahati from Kuwait. While 1 case is to be ascertained.

On a brighter side, 99 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals in Assam on Monday.

Among the patients who were discharged, 46 patients were discharged from Kalaphar Hospital in Guwahati, 22 from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati, 13 from Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH), eight from Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH), seven from Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH), two from Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) in Barpeta and one from Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh.

So far, 1,485 COVID-19 cases reported in Assam. Out of which, 284 patients have recovered and 4 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 1,194, since 3 positive persons have migrated.
