Two COVID-19 patients – Hazrat Ali of Dhubri and Samirul of Goalpara treated at Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati were discharged after recovery on Wednesday.
Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that both the patient were discharged after their successive tests were confirmed negative.
Now, they have been sent for 14-day home quarantine.
“Pleased to share that two more #COVID19 patients – Hazrat Ali of Dhubri and Samirul of Goalpara – are being discharged from MMCH after having tested negative for 3 consecutive times. They go for 14-day quarantine,” Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.
“Now the number of active positive cases in Assam is 7,” he added.

Assam has so far reported 37 COVID-19 cases. Out of which, 29 patients have recovered and one patient passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 7.
