COVID-19: Centre Directs All Central Govt Employees To Download Aarogya Setu App Immediately

All Central Government employees were on Wednesday asked to immediately download the Aarogya Setu App on their mobile phones and to come to office when the application shows ‘safe’ or ‘low risk’ status for commuting.

In the latest memorandum issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, the government said: “Before starting for office, they must review their status on ‘Aarogyasetu’ and commute only when the app shows ‘safe’ or ‘low risk’ status.”

The officers/staff are advised that in case the App shows a message that he/she has a ‘moderate’ or ‘high risk’ calculated on the basis of Bluetooth proximity (“recent contact with infected person”), he/she should not come to office and self isolate for 14 days or till the status becomes ‘safe’ or ‘low risk’, the Personnel Ministry said in the office memorandum.

The order has been sent to all departments, ministries, Cabinet Secretariat and the Prime Minister’s Office.

Arogya Setu is a mobile application developed by the government of India helps people to assess themselves on the risk of their catching the coronavirus infection.

All ministries/departments have been asked to issue similar instructions to all autonomous, statutory bodies and public sector undertakings attached to them.
