160 New COVID-19 Cases Reported In Assam

A total of 160 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Sunday (October 10).

Among the new cases, the highest number of cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (60), Jorhat (21), Lakhimpur (12) and Nagaon (10).

The new cases were detected out of 24,900 tests that were conducted during the day.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.64 per cent on Sunday.

Meanwhile, five more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.

According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatality were reported from Sonitpur (2), Barpeta (1), Jorhat (1) and Lakhimpur (1).

Further, 240 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 98.37 per cent.

Earlier on Saturday, 273 COVID-19 cases were reported in the state including 109 cases from Kamrup Metro district.

The Kamrup Metropolitan district, which primarily comprises the Guwahati city, has reported 911 new COVID-19 cases in the last 10 days.

According to data released by NHM, Assam on 10th October, 6,04,969 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,95,091 patients have recovered, while 5,926 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 2,605.

Over 2.39 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 2,59,73,193 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 1,95,67,464 persons administered with the first dose and 64,05,729 administered both doses of the vaccine.
