Assam: Less Than 900 New COVID-19 Cases Reported In Last 24 Hours

A total of 886 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Wednesday (August 11).

The new cases were detected out of 1,01,668 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.87 per cent on Wednesday.

The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (161), Barpeta (72), Golaghat (50) and Kamrup Rural (46).

Meanwhile, 14 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.

According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Dibrugarh (2), Kamrup Metro (2), Udalguri (2), Cachar (1), Dhubri (1), Kamrup Rural (1), Kokrajhar (1), Nagaon (1), Sivasagar (1), Sonitpur (1) and West Karbi Anglong (1).

Further, 1,098 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 97.18 per cent.

Earlier on Tuesday, 929 COVID-19 cases and 16 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 0.81%.

According to data released by NHM, Assam on 11th August, 5,77,035 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,60,782 patients have recovered, while 5,434 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 9,472.

Over 1.99 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 1,30,63,707 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 1,07,72,870 persons administered with the first dose and 22,90,837 administered both doses of the vaccine.

According to Cowin portal, on Wednesday, 92,949 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
