A total of 975 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Friday (August 6).
The new cases were detected out of 1,15,049 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.85 per cent on Friday.
The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (121), Lakhimpur (76), Sonitpur (61) and Dibrugarh (60).
Meanwhile, 14 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.
According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Golaghat (2), Tinsukia (2), Barpeta (1), Cachar (1), Darrang (1), Dhemaji (1), Dibrugarh (1), Hailakandi (1), Jorhat (1), Kamrup Metro (1), Nalbari (1) and Sonitpur (1).
Further, 1,266 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 97.02 per cent.
Earlier on Thursday, 1,067 COVID-19 cases and 17 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 0.81%.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on 6th August, 5,72,546 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,55,470 patients have recovered, while 5,357 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 10,372.
Over 1.94 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 1,20,84,028 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 99,72,530 persons administered with the first dose and 21,11,498 administered both doses of the vaccine.
According to Cowin portal, on Friday, 2,14,135 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
