161 New COVID-19 Cases Detected In Kamrup Metro, Total 1,276 In Assam

A total of 1,276 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Wednesday (July 28).

The new cases were detected out of 1,12,332 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 1.14 per cent on Wednesday.

The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (161), Golaghat (98), Lakhimpur (95) and Nagaon (66).

Meanwhile, 21 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.

According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Jorhat (4), Golaghat (3), Kamrup Rural (2), Karbi Anglong (2), Bongaigaon (1), Cachar (1), Dhubri (1), Dibrugarh (1), Hojai (1), Kamrup Metro (1), Lakhimpur (1), Sivasagar (1), Sonitpur (1) and Tinsukia (1).

Further, 1,791 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 96.50 per cent.

Earlier on Tuesday, 1,436 COVID-19 cases and 18 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 0.92%.

According to data released by NHM, Assam on July 28, 5,62,731 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,43,031 patients have recovered, while 5,201 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 13,152.

Over 1.82 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 1,03,37,009 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 84,72,199 persons administered with the first dose and 18,64,810 administered both doses of the vaccine.

According to Cowin portal, on Monday, 99,413 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
