A total of 1,436 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Tuesday (July 27).
The new cases were detected out of 1,55,495 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.92 per cent on Tuesday.
The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (169), Golaghat (131), Lakhimpur (122) and Nagaon (78).
Meanwhile, 18 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.
According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Dibrugarh (4), Biswanath (2), Morigaon (2), Sonitpur (2), Tinsukia (2), Cachar (1), Dhemaji (1), Jorhat (1), Kamrup Rural (1), Kamrup Metro (1) and Lakhimpur (1).
Further, 1,312 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 96.40 per cent.
Earlier on Monday, 1,528 COVID-19 cases and 26 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 0.92%.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on July 27, 5,61,455 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,41,240 patients have recovered, while 5,180 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 13,688.
Over 1.81 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 1,02,05,495 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 83,68,702 persons administered with the first dose and 18,36,793 administered both doses of the vaccine.
According to Cowin portal, on Tuesday, 2,39,747 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
