A total of 2,575 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Monday (July 12).
The new cases were detected out of 1,68,361 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 1.53 per cent on Sunday.
The highest number of new cases were reported from Golaghat (268), Kamrup Metro (217), Jorhat (196) and Lakhimpur (172).
Meanwhile, 37 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.
According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Baksa (5), Sonitpur (5), Karbi Anglong (4), Lakhimpur (4), Dibrugarh (3), Nagaon (3), Kamrup Metro (2), Sivasagar (2), Barpeta (1), Charaideo (1), Darrang (1), Golaghat (1), Jorhat (1), Kamrup Rural (1), Nalbari (1), Tinsukia (1) and Udalguri (1).
Further, 2,916 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 95.19 per cent.
Earlier on Sunday, 1,579 COVID-19 cases and 16 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 1.62%.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on July 12, 5,36,238 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,10,432 patients have recovered, while 4,865 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 19,594.

As many as 82,57,022 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 68,88,261 persons administered with the first dose and 13,68,761 administered both doses of the vaccine.
According to CoWin portal, on Monday, 2,36,185 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
