Assam: 2,289 New COVID-19 Cases, 26 Deaths Reported On July 7

A total of 2,289 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Wednesday (July 7).

The new cases were detected out of 1,01,729 tests that were conducted on Wednesday.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 2.25 per cent yesterday.

The highest number of new cases were reported from Golaghat (226), Lakhimpur (211), Kamrup Metro (181) and Jorhat (158).

Meanwhile, 26 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.

According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Sivasagar (5), Barpeta (3), Golaghat (3), Kamrup Metro (3), Charaideo (2), Goalpara (2), Hojai (2), and one each from Cachar, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Morigaon and Udalguri district.

Further, 3,136 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 94.64 per cent.

Earlier on Tuesday, 2,433 COVID-19 cases and 34 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 2.43%.

According to data released by NHM, Assam on July 7, 5,24,556 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 4,96,442 patients have recovered, while 4,743 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 22,024.

Over 1.56 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 77,22,621 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 64,03,819 persons administered with the first dose and 13,18,802 administered both doses of the vaccine.
