A delegation of 2000 women of Naharkatia LAC visited Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the latter’s office at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati on Tuesday (July 6) and handed over 2000 handmade gamusa as a token of love and gratitude for the scheme the state government has announced to give relief to women who took loan from micro finance institutions.
The delegation also presented him a letter of appreciation.
Chief Minister Sarma while humbly accepting the gift from the women said that the government true to its promised has given due importance to the matter since coming to power.
“Humbled by the warm gesture by 2000 sisters of #Naharkatia, who have donated Gamusa as a token of their love & gratitude for the scheme we’ve announced to give relief to women who took loan from micro finance institutions. We promise to stand by our people always,” CM Sarma tweeted.

He expressed the view that the state government’s move would provide much needed relief to the poor borrowers.
MLA of Naharkatia LAC Taranga Gogoi was also present during the visit of the delegation.
