Assam Sports Minister Inaugurates Selfie Points In Guwahati To Express Support For Indian Contingent Bound For Tokyo Olympics

Assam Sports & Youth Welfare Minister Bimal Borah on Tuesday (July 6) inaugurated selfie points at Nehru Stadium and Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati to show support to the Indian contingent bound for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.

People can take their photographs at the selfie points and upload them on social media to encourage and cheer the Indian contingent.

“Boxing ace @LovlinaBorgohai qualifying for #Tokyo2020 is a matter of immense pride & joy for Assam. Inaugurated a selfie point at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati. I urge everyone to show their support for Lovlina & the Indian contingent by clicking selfies and #Cheer4India,” the minister tweeted.

He also directed officials to set up similar selfie points at various places across the state.

In another tweet, the sports minister wrote, “Took a selfie at the selfie point at Dighalipukhuri, Guwahati to show my support to the Indian contingent bound for @Tokyo 2020. Show your support by clicking selfies at the nearest selfie point. I #Cheer4India, do you?”

The countdown for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics has started. The delayed Games are set to kick start in less than 20 days, with all the necessary covid-19 protocols in place.

The 2020 Summer Olympic Games are scheduled to take place in the Japanese capital between 23 July and 8 August.
