“Even though the weather wasn’t supportive, Andaaz 1.0 turned out to be a huge success” says Mafuz.

On 25th May 2019, social media based Instagram Page The Scribbled Writings (@thescribbledwritings_) organized their first ever open-mic, Andaaz in Guwahati.  With around 40 participants, the Coffee House in the campus of Cotton University was jam-packed with audience. The hall was filled with applause, whistles and loud cheers.

“My 12th exams got over and I had planned a solo trip to Guwahati, and that’s when I felt that there’s a big opportunity here for an open mic in Guwahati. 25k+ followers on my Instagram page was definitely an advantage. Started planning and preparing for the event and within a month everything was sorted.” Says Mafuz A. Laskar, the founder and the man behind Andaaz. “ While searching for sponsors was a difficult task Rapido, a Bengaluru based bike aggregator startup was ready to become the title sponsor” Mafuz adds.

RJ Aaliya from 92.7 Big FM, RJ Cooldeep from Radio Mirchi 95 and RTR Parna Deb Roy, Charter President of Rotaract Club Guwahati East graced the events as the Chief-Guests.  Even after having other programs they stayed till the end of the event. “Loved the whole event and its vibes”, the guests said.

Rahul Hazarika, Swagata Dev and Abhilash Baruah from One Stop Kitchen, Aprajita Singh and Antara Mohanta from Yatai Food Court were also present as guests.

The event had more than 200 footfall which was really beyond expection.

“It was a really nice experience conducting the event and I didn’t expect so much love for the event and I’m thankful to each and everyone who managed their time to show up.” says Mafuz.

Debashree Pathak, Jannat Ara Mazumdar, Ridhika Agarwal, Dikshita Kakati,  Ananya Talukdar, Tanwira Barbhuiya, Chanakya Sarma, Mohit Goel, Ishan Das, Bably Das, Abhishek Sharma and Samsul Choudhury worked hard and made Andaaz possible.

We also had Stawb Bose Sarkar, Soumik Ganguly, Aniket Dhar from Katha, who were the Videography Partner.

“Without the team members working that hard, the event would have never been possible. And we are not just a team anymore, we are a family now.” He adds.

Rapido was the Title Sponsor, One Stop Kitchen and Yatai Food Cart was the food partners. TNEC and The Guwahati Times were the Media Partners and Around Guwahati was the Social Media Partner.

Hope they organize more Open Mic events and provide a platform to everyone.
