The Assam government has decided to name the road connecting Narengi in Guwahati to Morigaon via Chandrapur after eminent litterateur Homen Borgohain.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Thursday (May 20), Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Guwahati Narengi – Morigaon Jagi Bhakatgaon road would be named after distinguished litterateur Late Homen Borgohain.”

The Chief Minister also said that the state government will make various efforts time to time in order to keep Homen Borgohain’s memories alive and intact amongst the people of Assam.
Eminent writer-journalist Homen Borgohain breathed his last on May 12 morning at GNRC Hospital in Guwahati.
His last rites were performed with full state honours.
