Heavy Rainfall Spells Likely To Continue Over Assam & Other Northeast States During Next 5 Days: IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday (April 20) said that heavy rainfall spells over Assam and other Northeastern states likely to continue during next five days.

According to the IMD, under the influence of strong southwesterly winds from Bay of Bengal to northeastern States at lower tropospheric levels:

⚡ Fairly widespread rainfall very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya, Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds during next 5 days.

⚡ Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Assam-Meghalaya during 20th-24th April and over Arunachal Pradesh on 22nd April, 2022.

👉7-days forecast for #Guwahati as per the Regional Meteorological Department, Guwahati:

👉April 20: Generally cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thundershowers.
👉April 21: Generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
👉April 22: Generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
👉April 23: Generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
👉April 24: Generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
👉April 25: Partly cloudy sky.
👉April 26: Mainly clear sky.

In the next seven days, minimum and maximum temperatures in Guwahati are likely to be 20°C and 30°C respectively.
