COVID-19 Update: 192 New Cases, 5 Deaths Reported In Assam On Nov 22

A total of 192 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Monday (November 22).

Among the new cases, the highest number of cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (86), Goalpara (15), Kamrup Rural (13) and Sivasagar (10).

The new cases were detected out of 38,892 tests that were conducted during the day.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.49% per cent on Monday.

Meanwhile, five more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.

According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Lakhimpur (2), Kamrup Metro (1), Sivasagar (1) and Sonitpur (1).

Further, 232 patients recovered on Monday. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 98.54 per cent.

Earlier on Sunday (November 21), 91 COVID-19 cases were reported in the state including 52 cases from Kamrup Metro district.

In the last 10 days, Assam reported 2,011 new COVID-19 cases. While the Kamrup Metro district has reported 917 new COVID-19 cases in the last 10 days.

According to data released by NHM, Assam on 22nd November, 6,15,574 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 6,06,569 patients have recovered, while 6,077 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 1,581.

Over 2.54 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 3,18,05,959 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 2,08,51,020 persons administered with the first dose and 1,09,54,939 administered both doses of the vaccine.
