COVID-19 Update: 333 New Cases, 9 Deaths Reported In Assam

A total of 333 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Monday (October 4).

Among the new cases, the highest number of cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (69), Jorhat (34), Barpeta (25) and Golaghat (25).

The new cases were detected out of 50,424 tests that were conducted on Monday.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.66 per cent on Monday.

Meanwhile, nine more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.

According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatality was reported from Dibrugarh (2), Biswanath (1), Darrang (1), Jorhat (1), Kamrup Metro (1), Nagaon (1), Sivasagar (1) and Sonitpur (1).

Further, 314 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 98.33 per cent.

Earlier on Sunday, 193 COVID-19 cases were reported in the state including 103 cases from Kamrup Metro district.

The Kamrup Metropolitan district, which primarily comprises the Guwahati city, has reported 975 new COVID-19 cases in the last 10 days.

According to data released by NHM, Assam on 5th October, 6,03,238 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,93,152 patients have recovered, while 5,890 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 2,849.

Over 2.37 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 2,49,61,105 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 1,89,57,924 persons administered with the first dose and 60,03,181 administered both doses of the vaccine.
