COVID-19 Update: 108 New Cases Reported In Kamrup Metro In The Last 24 Hours

A total of 366 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Wednesday (September 29).

Among the new cases, the highest number of cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (108), Barpeta (32), Jorhat (31) and Golaghat (27).

The new cases were detected out of 50,692 tests that were conducted during the day.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.72 per cent on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, seven more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.

According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Sonitpur (3), Baksa (1), Dhemaji (1), Nagaon (1) and Udalguri (1).

Further, 507 patients recovered on Wednesday. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 98.28 per cent.

Earlier on Tuesday, 390 COVID-19 cases were reported in the state including 115 cases from Kamrup Metro district.

The Kamrup Metropolitan district, which primarily comprises the Guwahati city, has reported 1,089 new COVID-19 cases in the last 10 days.

According to data released by NHM, Assam on 29th September, 6,01,787 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,91,432 patients have recovered, while 5,868 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 3,140.

Over 2.35 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 2,39,04,500 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 1,83,98,045 persons administered with the first dose and 55,06,455 administered both doses of the vaccine.

In the last 24 hours, 1,03,824 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered in Assam.
