A total of 455 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Monday (September 20).
Among the new cases, the highest number of cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (84), Golaghat (52), Jorhat (42) and Barpeta (29).
The new cases were detected out of 72,650 tests that were conducted during the day.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.63 per cent on Monday.
Meanwhile, 10 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.
According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Kamrup Metro (5), Jorhat (2), Barpeta (1), Goalpara (1) and Sivasagar (1).
Further, 455 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 98.20 per cent.
Earlier on Sunday, 259 COVID-19 cases were reported in the state including 74 cases from Kamrup Metro district.
The Kamrup Metropolitan district, which primarily comprises the Guwahati city, has reported 1,080 new COVID-19 cases in the last 10 days.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on 16th September, 5,98,423 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,87,632 patients have recovered, while 5,807 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 3,637.
Over 2.30 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 2,24,72,796 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 1,76,72,796 persons administered with the first dose and 48,13,334 administered both doses of the vaccine.
Meanwhile, India registers 26,115 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours and active cases have dropped to 3,09,575.
