636 New COVID-19 Cases & 11 Deaths Reported In Last 24 Hours

A total of 636 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Monday (September 6).

The new cases were detected out of 91,028 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.70 per cent on Monday.

The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (124), Sivasagar (49), Jorhat (43) and Nalbari (40).

Meanwhile, 11 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.

According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Dibrugarh (2), Baksa (1), Golaghat (1), Hojai (1), Jorhat (1), Kokrajhar (1), Lakhimpur (1), Morigaon (1), Sonitpur (1) and Udalguri (1).

Further, 556 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 97.95 per cent.

Earlier on Sunday, 321 COVID-19 cases and six deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 0.87%.

According to data released by NHM, Assam on 6th September, 5,92,616 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,80,491 patients have recovered, while 5,710 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 5,068.

Over 2.21 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 1,87,87,457 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 1,53,85,012 persons administered with the first dose and 34,02,445 administered both doses of the vaccine.

In the last 24 hours, 2,76,015 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the state.
