A total of 499 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Friday (August 27).
The new cases were detected out of 75,004 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.67 per cent on Friday.
The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (113), Golaghat (38), Jorhat (36) and Nalbari (32).
Meanwhile, nine more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.
According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Golaghat (3),
Kamrup Metro (3), Udalguri (2) and Sivasagar (1).
Further, 739 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 97.76 per cent.
Earlier on Thursday, 562 COVID-19 cases and seven deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 0.69%.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on 27th August, 5,87,439 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,74,280 patients have recovered, while 5,627 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 6,185.
Over 2.13 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.
As many as 1,67,34,136 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 1,37,60,409 persons administered with the first dose and 29,73,727 administered both doses of the vaccine.
