Assam: 758 New COVID-19 Cases Reported In Last 24 Hours

A total of 758 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Monday (August 16).

The new cases were detected out of 1,10,581 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.83 per cent on Monday.

The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (163), Barpeta (49), Lakhimpur (49) and Nalbari (45).

Meanwhile, 10 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.

According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Darrang (2), Jorhat (2), Cachar (1), Golaghat (1), Hojai (1), Kamrup Metro (1), Kokrajhar (1) and Sonitpur (1).

Further, 1,014 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 97.49 per cent.

Earlier on Sunday, 411 COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 0.83%.

According to data released by NHM, Assam on 16th August, 5,80,657 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,66,101 patients have recovered, while 5,502 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 7,707.

Over 2.04 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 1,43,66,898 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 1,18,46,600 persons administered with the first dose and 25,20,298 administered both doses of the vaccine.

According to Cowin portal, on Monday, 3,48,171 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
