A total of 755 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Saturday (August 14).
The new cases were detected out of 1,07,473 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.70 per cent on Saturday.
The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (124), Barpeta (70), Jorhat (47) and Golaghat (41).
Meanwhile, 11 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.
According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Nalbari (3), Barpeta (1), Charaideo (1), Dhubri (1), Dibrugarh (1), Golaghat (1), Kamrup Metro (1), Kamrup Rural (1) and Sivasagar (1).
Further, 969 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 97.37 per cent.
Earlier on Friday, 763 COVID-19 cases and 20 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 0.66%.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on 14th August, 5,79,488 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,64,230 patients have recovered, while 5,482 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 8,429.
Over 2.02 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 1,38,63,033 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 1,14,20,545 persons administered with the first dose and 24,42,488 administered both doses of the vaccine.
According to Cowin portal, on Saturday, 3,30,061 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
