Assam: 935 New COVID-19 Cases Reported In Last 24 Hours

A total of 935 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Thursday (August 12).

The new cases were detected out of 1,11,728 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.84 per cent on Thursday.

The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (163), Barpeta (81), Golaghat (59) and Jorhat (58).

Meanwhile, 17 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.

According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Jorhat (3), Cachar (2), Kamrup Metro (2), Lakhimpur (2), Baksa (1), Dhemaji (1), Dibrugarh (1), Goalpara (1), Golaghat (1), Hojai (1), Kamrup Rural (1) and Nagaon (1).

Further, 1,310 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 97.25 per cent.

Earlier on Wednesday, 886 COVID-19 cases and 14 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 0.87%.

According to data released by NHM, Assam on 12th August, 5,77,970 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,62,092 patients have recovered, while 5,451 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 9,080.

Over 2 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 1,32,47,156 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 1,09,11,643 persons administered with the first dose and 22,35,513 administered both doses of the vaccine.
