A total of 1,120 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Monday (August 10).
The new cases were detected out of 1,40,454 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.80 per cent on Monday.
The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (197), Barpeta (74), Golaghat (68) and Lakhimpur (67).
Meanwhile, 17 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.
According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Golaghat (3), Hojai (2), Kamrup Rural (2), Karimganj (2), Cachat (1), Darrang (1), Dhubri (1), Goalpara (1), Jorhat (1), Kamrup Metro (1), Nagaon (1) and Sonitpur (1).
Further, 1,066 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 97.13 per cent.
Earlier on Sunday, 568 COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 0.97%.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on 9th August, 5,75,220 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,58,720 patients have recovered, while 5,404 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 9,749.
Over 1.97 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 1,27,20,409 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 1,05,10,804 persons administered with the first dose and 22,09,605 administered both doses of the vaccine.
