A total of 1,065 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Wednesday (August 4).
The new cases were detected out of 1,19,188 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.89 per cent on Wednesday.
The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (181), Lakhimpur (71), Barpeta (63) and Nalbari (56).
Meanwhile, 19 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.
According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Jorhat (4), Karbi Anglong (3), Baksa (2), Dibrugarh (2), Tinsukia (2), Cachar (1), Golaghat (1), Kamrup Metro (1), Kokrajhar (1), Lakhimpur (1) and Morigaon (1).
Further, 1,263 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 96.92 per cent.
Earlier on Tuesday, 1,182 COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 0.77%.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on 4th August, 5,70,504 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,52,955 patients have recovered, while 5,326 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 10,876.
Over 1.91 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 1,15,68,579 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 95,23,851 persons administered with the first dose and 20,44,728 administered both doses of the vaccine.
According to Cowin portal, on Wednesday, 1,35,230 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
