A total of 1,182 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Tuesday (August 3).
The new cases were detected out of 1,54,102 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.77 per cent on Tuesday.
The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (177), Barpeta (75), Golaghat (74) and Jorhat (72).
Meanwhile, 13 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.
According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Golaghat (3), Kamrup Metro (2), Baksa (1), Barpeta (1), Dhemaji (1), Jorhat (1), Kamrup Rural (1), Nagaon (1), Nalbari (1) and Udalguri (1).
Further, 1,158 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 96.88 per cent.
Earlier on Monday, 1,275 COVID-19 cases and 19 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 0.72%.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on 3rd August, 5,69,439 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,51,692 patients have recovered, while 5,307 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 11,093.
Over 1.90 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 1,14,29,254 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 94,05,394 persons administered with the first dose and 20,23,860 administered both doses of the vaccine.
According to Cowin portal, on Tuesday, 2,79,753 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
