A total of 1,275 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Monday (August 2).
The new cases were detected out of 1,76,197 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.72 per cent on Monday.
The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (209), Golaghat (106), Dibrugarh (90) and Kamrup Rural (69).
Meanwhile, 19 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.
According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Barpeta (4), Kamrup Metro (3), Dibrugarh (2), Kamrup Rural (2), Biswanath (1), Cachar (1), Chirang (1), Darrang (1), Golaghat (1), Hojai (1), Lakhimpur (1) and Tinsukia (1).
Further, 1,469 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 96.88 per cent.
Earlier on Sunday, 784 COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 0.86%.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on 2nd August, 5,68,257 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,50,534 patients have recovered, while 5,294 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 11,082.
Over 1.88 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 1,11,29,239 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 91,41,787 persons administered with the first dose and 19,87,452 administered both doses of the vaccine.
According to Cowin portal, on Monday, 3,00,079 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
