188 New COVID-19 Cases Detected In Kamrup Metro, Total 1,621 In Assam

A total of 1,621 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Friday (July 23).

The new cases were detected out of 1,47,175 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 1.10 per cent on Friday.

The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (188), Golaghat (128), Lakhimpur (110) and Dibrugarh (96).

Meanwhile, 15 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.

According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Golaghat (3), Jorhat (2), Sivasagar (2), Baksa (1), Charaideo (1), Darrang (1), Kamrup Metro (1), Karimganj (1), Kokrajhar (1), Nagaon (1) and Tinsukia (1).

Further, 1,869 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 96.22 per cent.

Earlier on Thursday, 1,796 COVID-19 cases and 22 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 1.13%.

According to data released by NHM, Assam on July 23, 5,55,842 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,34,809 patients have recovered, while 5,091 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 14,595.

Over 1.76 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 95,30,556 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 78,47,512 persons administered with the first dose and 16,83,044 administered both doses of the vaccine.

According to Cowin portal, on Friday, 1,88,839 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
