193 New COVID-19 Cases Detected In Kamrup Metro, Total 1,547 In Assam, Positivity Rate - 2.09%

A total of 1,547 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Wednesday (July 21).

The new cases were detected out of 74,114 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 2.09 per cent on Wednesday.

The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (193), Golaghat (147), Dibrugarh (139) and Jorhat (115).

Meanwhile, 25 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.

According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Dibrugarh (3), Golaghat (3), Sonitpur (3), Jorhat (2), Kamrup Rural (2), Karimganj (2), Kokrajhar (2), Lakhimpur (2), Sivasagar (2), Barpeta (1), Darrang (1), Hojai (1) and Nalbari (1).

Further, 2,426 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 96.06 per cent.

Earlier on Tuesday, 1,798 COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 1.27%.

According to data released by NHM, Assam on July 21, 5,52,425 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,30,678 patients have recovered, while 5,054 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 15,346.

Over 1.73 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 91,27,872 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 75,31,997 persons administered with the first dose and 15,95,875 administered both doses of the vaccine.

According to Cowin portal, on Wednesday, 40,153 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
