India recorded 30,093 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest in 125 days, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,11,74,322, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday (July 20).
The daily positivity rate stands at 1.68%, less than 3% for the 29th consecutive days.
The death toll climbed to 4,14,482 with 374 new fatalities, the lowest in around 111 days.
Further, 45,254 recoveries were recorded on Monday. With this, the total number of discharges has reached 3,03,53,710 and the recovery rate has improved to 97.37%.
The active cases have further declined to 4,06,130, the lowest in 117 days, and comprise 1.30% of the total infections.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 44,73,41,133 samples has been tested for COVID-19, up to July 19, out of these, 17,92,336 samples were tested on Monday.
According to the Union Health Ministry, as many as 41.18 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered so far since the commencement of the vaccination drive on January 16.
