A total of 2,046 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Wednesday (July 14).
The new cases were detected out of 1,32,557 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 1.54 per cent on Wednesday.
The highest number of new cases were reported from Golaghat (228), Kamrup Metro (207), Sivasagar (122) and Lakhimpur (115).
Meanwhile, 22 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.
According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Lakhimpur (3), Golaghat (2), Jorhat (2), Kamrup Metro (2), Karbi Anglong (2), Tinsukia (2), Kamrup Rural (2), Cachar (1), Chirang (1), Dibrugarh (1), Hojai (1), Barpeta (1), Sivasagar (1) and Sonitpur (1).
Further, 2,655 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 95.21 per cent.
Earlier on Tuesday, 2,169 COVID-19 cases and 23 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 1.74%.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on July 14, 5,40,453 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,14,543 patients have recovered, while 4,910 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 19,653.
Over 1.65 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 84,74,223 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 70,42,045 persons administered with the first dose and 14,32,178 administered both doses of the vaccine.
According to CoWin portal, on Wednesday, 1,00,143 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
