A total of 2,169 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Tuesday (July 13).
The new cases were detected out of 1,24,381 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 1.74 per cent on Tuesday.
The highest number of new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (258), Golaghat (232), Lakhimpur (138) and Sonitpur (116).
Meanwhile, 23 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.
According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Golaghat (3), Jorhat (3), Karbi Anglong (2), Nagaon (2), Tinsukia (2), Biswanath (1), Chirang (1), Dibrugarh (1), Dima Hasao (1), Golapara (1), Hojai (1), Kamrup Metro (1), Kamrup Rural (1), Lakhimpur (1), Morigaon (1) and Sonitpur (1).
Further, 1,456 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 95.07 per cent.
Earlier on Monday, 2,575 COVID-19 cases and 37 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 1.53%.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on July 13, 5,38,407 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,11,888 patients have recovered, while 4,888 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 20,284.
Over 1.63 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 83,44,681 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 69,60,555 persons administered with the first dose and 13,84,126 administered both doses of the vaccine.
According to CoWin portal, on Tuesday, 73,168 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
