One of the main ingredients of Assamese cuisine, the GI-certified Assam lemon (Kaji Nemu) have reached the markets of London in the United Kingdom.
A consignment of ‘Kaji Nemu’ was exported from Guwahati to London last month is now available in the markets of London.

‘Kaji Nemu’ are used for preparing refreshing drinks and pickles as well as garnishing curry and other dishes. This lemon has more juice than Gol Nemu.
Earlier, between 4th December 2020 and 28th January 2021, a massive consignment of ‘Kaji Nemu’ weighing nearly 6 metric tonnes was exported to London from Assam.
Last year, Assam also exported pumpkins to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, London, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
Further, a variety of red rice of Assam was also exported to the USA in March this year.
