Assam: 2,391 New COVID-19 Cases Detected, 228 From Kamrup Metro

A total of 2,391 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Saturday (July 10).

The new cases were detected out of 1,33,308 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 1.79 per cent on Saturday.

The highest number of new cases were reported from Golaghat (234), Kamrup Metro (228), Jorhat (206) and Sonitpur (141).

Meanwhile, 24 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state.

According to a media bulletin by National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Golaghat (4), Tinsukia (4), Dibrugarh (3), Sonitpur (3), Jorhat (2), Karimganj (2), Sivasagar (2), Charaideo (1), Dhubri (1), Hojai (1) and Nagaon (1).

Further, 2,854 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 94.86 per cent.

Earlier on Friday, 2,493 COVID-19 cases and 24 deaths were reported in the state with a case positivity rate of 2.13%.

According to data released by NHM, Assam on July 10, 5,32,084 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 5,04,723 patients have recovered, while 4,812 patients passed away.

The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 21,202.

Over 1.6 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.

As many as 79,09,468 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 65,64,424 persons administered with the first dose and 13,45,044 administered both doses of the vaccine.

According to CoWin portal, on Saturday, 1,17,437 people were administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Assam.
