TV actor Pracheen Chauhan, who was arrested by Mumbai Police on Saturday (July 3) for allegedly molesting a 22-year-old woman, was produced before the Borivali court today where he was granted bail.
The arrest was made on the basis of a complaint from the victim at Karur Police Station.
Police have registered a case under sections 354, 323, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The police said the actor had organised a party on Thursday night at his residence.
“The complainant had gone to her house along with her friend, where the actor allegedly consumed alcohol and touched her inappropriately in an inebriated state,” an officer was quoted as saying by Indian Express.
The woman then went home and came to the police station on Friday evening. Her statement was recorded and a case was subsequently registered.
Pracheen is popular for working in TV shows including Kasautii Zindagii Kay season 1, Ssshhhh… Koi Hai, Kyun Hota Hai Pyarr, Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat, Sindoor Tere Naam Ka, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, and Laal Ishq among others. He was recently seen in the web series Pyar Ka Punch.
