Guwahati Based Start-Up Launches Free Platform For Online Tutors - TuitionBud

A group of ex-IITians, with the support of IIIM Udaipur Incubation Centre, has launched a online platform called ‘TuitionBud’ that allows tutors to set up virtual classrooms without any technical expertise.

TuitionBud.com provides all the tools necessary for a tutor to run their online classes efficiently IN ONE SINGLE PLATFORM including video calls, screen sharing, recorded lectures, assignments, timed exams and much more.

TutionBud is free for use given the current COVID-19 scenario and competes with foreign apps like Google Meet and Zoom.

TuitionBud, a learning management system + video conferencing solution, built to ease the life of tutors and help them take their classrooms online.

“At TuitionBud, we are trying to create a wholesome solution to improve education delivery across India, even in its remotest parts. Covid-19 motivated a lot of teachers to take a step towards digital literacy. We believe in empowering these teachers by enabling them to reach students who couldn’t have access to their teachings till now,” said Aditya Agarwal, director, TutionBud, and an alumni of IIT Kharagpur, who is based in Guwahati.

“The story began a few months back, freelance tutors of India did not have a holistic solution for switching to online live classes. It became evident that they were struggling with either technically complex software or disconnected systems such as Zoom, WhatsApp, Google Drive, etc. New products eventually made their way into the market but were expensive and weren’t accessible to all those in need,” Aditya said.
