Several Key Decisions Taken In Assam Cabinet On December 13: Check Details

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday, December 13, chaired a meeting of the Assam Council of Ministers (CoM) in Guwahati where several important decisions were taken.

The following decisions were taken in the meeting of the Assam Council of Ministers:

1. The Cabinet approved the holiday list for 2021. General Holidays will be 34 days and restricted holidays will be 31 days.

2. The Cabinet approved provision for rehabilitation of erosion affected people. Grant will be provided in three categories i.e. Rs 5 lakh, Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh.

3. Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) for the Tea Tribes Dept at a determined cost per year will be set up, decided the Cabinet.

4. Medical College and Hospital Critical Care Service Rule will be formulated.

5. The Cabinet decided to change nomenclature of ‘Miri’ to ‘Mishing’.

6. “Assam Mala: Simplification of land provision” has been approved for direct purchase of land.

7. Cabinet passed the act to bring Micro Financial Institutions under RBI.

8. Cabinet decided to introduce Repeal of Provisions of Madrasas and Sanskrit Tols Act in next session of Assembly.

9. Agricultural Income Tax Holidays for 3 years has been approved.

10. New Policy for Agarwood Cultivation has been approved.

11. Under Ease of doing business, provision for private educational institutions to take online permissions will be introduced.
