A student was shot dead by a man near her college in Rajasthan’s capital city Jaipur on Saturday when she had gone to appear for her graduation final year examination, reports news agency PTI.
The incident took place in Jaipur’s Rajapark area.
Police told PTI that the student had come from Jhunjhunu to appear for the exam, which was scheduled from 7 am to 10 am and the accused attacked her with a knife and then opened fire at around 10:30 am near her college.
As per the report, she was immediately rushed to hospital where she succumbed to the injuries.
The accused, Vishnu Chaudhary was caught soon after the incident. He hails from Dholpur and was preparing for a competitive exam in Jaipur, police said.
The police are investigating the matter to find out the reason behind the crime.
