Ways To Deal With Home Quarantine

On March 24, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a complete lockdown in the entire country to fight against COVID-19. A must needed step, the government is doing everything to prevent India from sufferings like China and Italy, now its our turn to support the Government by staying home.

It is understandable that for most of the people staying home 24/7 for such a long time is very difficult, most of us will be stressed by thinking what will we do the whole day staying home.

So here is a list which will make these days a lot easier for you:

1. Learn cooking
This is one of the best and the most useful thing to learn while you are locked in your homes. Learning to cook will make you independent, as you will no longer have to wait for someone to serve you. You can make anything at anytime as per your choice. Cooking will save your money from outside food and make you healthier by eating home cooked food. It is the most essential part of our life, so learning it will be the best thing you can do for yourself.

2. Learn knitting
Ask your parents how it felt when they were gifted hand made knitted socks, scarfs or sweaters. Earlier days mothers would start knitting small clothes for their kids even before their birth. It one of the most exciting things to do. Also you will be amazed to know that knitting has many health benefits like lowering heart rate, blood pressure and stress hormones.

3. Take up a course online
It is the best time to upgrade your skills or learn new ones as now you don’t have to complain about not having enough time to take up an online course. As per your interest you can take up any online course which will be beneficial for your personal and professional growth. You can take up courses from sites like udemy, coursera, edX, and YouTube to name a few.

4. Read
The people who love reading would have already started to read by now. And those who doesn’t have a habit of reading can start with a book of the genre that attracts you the most. Reading doesn’t help just in passing time, but it helps in building various skills and knowledge. Also if you really hate reading books, you can read articles online or you can read about various topic on Quora which is known to be the best platform for sharing and gaining knowledge.

5. Build a habit
Many researchers claim that it take only 21 days to form a habit. You can take up anything and continue doing it for 21 days like exercising, waking up early morning, changes in eating habits for better health, brushing teeth before going to bed or anything which you feel like doing for yourself. Mark a tick each day you complete the task, this will give you motivation for the next day. Nothing wrong in giving a try isn’t it?

6. Watch series or movies
There are ample amount of series and movies which will not even end in these 21 days. Why not start watching them which were pending since long in your watch list.

7. Play indoor games with family
In our busy lives we can hardly give some time to our family. Though this is a hard time for the entire world, but one positive thing we can take from the situation is spending quality time with our families. Playing indoor games are so much fun that you will not realize how the time has passed. You can play cards, business, ludo, antakshari or can come up your own innovative games.

8. DIY
Making something by our own increases our self-esteem and skills. You can find DIYs on YouTube, or Pinterest and try them at your home. You can make tents at home for fun, or make soaps, there are thousands of things you can do that are fun and mind boggling.

9. Be a master in house chores
When the whole country is locked down, even the house helps will be staying at their homes. And this is the most challenging task for most of us right? We will have to do all the household work by ourselves be it cleaning or washing dishes. But it isn’t that bad when you will know that you are capable of doing all these when no one is there for you. You can make it interesting by decorating your house as you like, and doing the household works as quickly and effectively as possible. Keep a timer for say washing clothes and finish it before the time runs out and if you don’t take up another task as a punishment. Isn’t it fun playing with yourself?

10. Pursue hobbies
Now that you have all the time in the world for yourselves, you can explore your hobbies better. Like if you love painting, you can draw 2-3 painting in a day. If you love to sing you can entertain your family by organizing your own concert. If you love dancing, you can teach your dad a few steps.

 All these will make your stay at home the best days at your home. Also you will know your potentials and et time to enhance your skills. Nothing can be better than getting a reflection of yourself and spending quality time with your family.

When the entire world is fighting against the dangerous virus, we can take measures by staying home and saving lives.
