JEE Advanced 2019: Guwahati’s Pradipta Parag Bora Emerges As The Topper Of Eastern Region

IIT Roorkee has declared the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced Result 2019 on June 14.

Pradipta Parag Bora from Guwahati secured AIR 28 (General Category) to emerge as the topper of the IIT Guwahati zone (which includes all the states of the North East, Bihar, Siliguri of West Bengal and Singapore) in the prestigious JEE Advanced 2019.

Pradipta achieved the best rank from Assam in recent years in JEE Advanced.

Pradipta also secured state rank 1 in JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 with 99.99 percentage. An NTSE scholar he got AIR 26 in KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) which is the scholarship program funded by the government of India aimed at encouraging students to take up research careers in the areas of basic science.

  • IIT Guwahati – Pradipta Parag Bora (CRL 28)

  • IIT Kharagpur – Gudipaty Aniket (CRL 29)
  • IIT Hyderabad – Gillella Aakash Reddy (CRL-4)
  • IIT Roorkee – Jayesh Singla (CRL 17)

Son of Geetasree Gogoi Bora and Prasanta Kumar Bora of Guwahati. Pradipta is also the eastern region topper as his rank is above the IIT Kharagpur zone topper.

This year, a total number of 161319 candidates appeared in both papers 1 and 2 in JEE (Advanced) 2019 out of whom 38705 candidates have qualified.

Out of the total qualified candidates, 5356 are females.

Kartikey Chandresh Gupta of Ballarpur, Maharashtra obtained 346 marks out of 372 marks and emerged as All India topper.
