Bollywood Actor Faraaz Khan Passes Away At 46

Actor Faraaz Khan, known for starring in Bollywood movies such as ‘Fareb’ and ‘Mehndi’, passed away in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

He was 46-years-old.

Actor-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt took to Twitter to share the news of Faraaz’s demise. She had earlier shared that Faraaz was suffering from a brain infection.

She tweeted, “With a heavy heart I break the news that #FaraazKhan has left us for what I believe, is a better place. Gratitude to all for your help & good wishes when he needed it most. Please keep his family in your thoughts & prayers. The void he has left behind will be impossible to fill.”

In another tweet, Bhatt shared pictures of Faraaz and wrote, “#FaraazKhan. May 1970-Nov 2020. May your music always play across time and space.”

Faraaz Khan, son of late Bollywood actor Yusuf Khan, was admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru last month after suffering multiple seizures.

His family members had started a fundraising campaign to gather funds for the treatment of the actor.

Faraaz’s family had said that he was suffering from a cough and an infection in his chest for nearly a year and it aggravated recently.

Faraaz suffered seizures thrice when he was being taken to the hospital and it was later diagnosed that the “herpes infection in his brain had spread from his chest”.

Last month, Pooja Bhatt shared details of Faraaz’s diagnosis and urged people to crowdfund to pay for his medical bills of Rs 25 lakh. Following which, actor Salman Khan had also made a contribution to the fundraiser.

Faraaz Khan had acted in films like Mehndi (1998), Fareb (1996), Dulhan Banoo Main Teri (1999) and Chand Bujh Gaya (2005), among others.
