Salman Khan’s Ready Co-Star Mohit Baghel Dies Of Cancer At The Age Of 26

TV and film actor Mohit Baghel died of cancer in his hometown Mathura in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.

He was 26.

He was best known for playing Amar Chaudhary in the 2011 film Ready in which he shared the screen space with Salman Khan.

The news of his demise was confirmed by writer and director Raaj Shaandilyaa who took to Twitter to pen an emotional note.

The tweet by Raaj reads, “Mohit, mere bhai itni jaldi kya thi jaane ki? Maine tujhse kahaa tha dekh tere diye saari industry ruk gayi hai. jaldi se theekh hoke aaja uske baad hi sab kaam shuru karenge. Tu bahot achi acting karta hai. Agli film ke set pe tera intezaar karunga…. aur tujhe aana hi padega. Om Sai Ram #cancer RIP.”

Bollywood celebrities Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra who worked with Mohit Baghel in the film Jabariya Jodi also took to Twitter to condole his death.

Parineeti wrote, “One of the nicesttt people to work with! Happy, positive and motivated always. Love you Mohit. RIP #JabariyaJodi.”

Sidharth wrote, “Really shocked to hear this news.. Mohit was such a young, happy, funny & talented guy.. We just shot a whole film together! Upsetting news, my prayers with his family.”

“He is gone too soon. He has been undergoing treatment for cancer in AIIMS hospital in Delhi since six months. I spoke to him last on May 15 and that time he was ok, he had started recovering. He stayed with his parents and elder brother in Mathura. I learnt about his demise from a common friend, who said he passed away today morning at his residence,” writer-director Raaj Shaandilyaa told news agency PTI.

Raaj, who worked as a writer with Mohit Baghel in Comedy Circus and Jabariya Jodi, told PTI he wanted to cast Mohit in his directorial debut Dream Girl (2019) but due to date issues they couldn’t work together on the film.

“He was such a talented actor. His comic timing was great. He had two films with him that time – Milan Talkies and Bunty Aur Babli 2 – so we couldn’t work together on Dream Girl,” he added.

Mohit Baghel began his career with the reality show Chote Miyan.

Mohit has also acted in films Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami and Gali Gali Chor Hai.
